TGIF!

 Hello again,
Another week been and gone - thank god its the weekend! and I am super excited to be going to see Michael McIntyre tomorrow at the 02 - I love him! I also have so much work to do, my bedroom, college work and my UCAS deadline is in a month! ahh I havent even started - were has the time gone!!

outfit 1: Topshop Leigh jeans and primark blouse, I also wore my leopard print vectras but they're not in this pic! Also the same leather jacket and bag as always - they seem to be surgically attached to me recently!

Picture I posted of outfit on instagram! follow me @ jenastagram.

Outfit 2: more casual - leggings and an older river island checked shirt again with that jacket! I swear I don't wear it everyday!

outfit 3: was feeling rather happy this morning so opted for a dress! This is a newer one from Topshop, it got commented on alot today! It's a lovely print and is quite thick so good for winter! Also if you cn see I got a new phone case! a blue bunny ears case - been waiting weeks for it to arrive - it waas only £1.19 or something ridiculously cheap like that on ebay!

And finally, my wallpaper has gone up! I've had it for weeks sitting around and its now up! I'm going to do a proper post once everything is sorted so keep a look out!

Thanks for reading, hope you had a good week!

wednesday wishlist #5

Is it really Wednesday again?!
since starting back at college weeks are going so fast, but I'm managing to fit in my Blog posts, so all is well!

Described as a frosty light beige, I thought this would be the perfect leap into mac lipsticks, I've had mac products before (well one, the strobe liquid)  and loved it but never tried the lipsticks. I think this colour will be perfect for an everyday, daytime nude - I like it so much I've already ordered it! (is putting it in my wishlist cheating?!). cant wait for it to arrive!

when scrolling through the website as a diversion to homework (don't pretend you haven't done the same!) I spotted these and immediately fell in love! They are so nice, the perfect winter boot for me as I love studs! a little on the pricey side though...

WHAT.A.BARGAIN! This is a dupe of the caviare nails, and this is such a lovely colour mix! I want to try this so bad, I think it looks great and went to check if it was in my local superdrug today and it wasn't there, but they were restocking the shelves, so fingers crossed they're putting out the new products so I can get my hands on this!

4. H&M gloves £7.99
so, we cannot deny it any more - summer is over and the only thing slightly comforting is the fact I can pick up some winter essentials! like these gloves! They are a gorgeous coral colour with the cutest little bows by the wrist, I think they'll look great with my leather jacket which I literally live in in winter! I'm temped to order these along with this great tartan scarf I found (cheaper version from last weeks wishlist!).

last up this week is more of a necessity, my current purse I've had for over a year I think and it is literally falling apart at the bottom, the seam  has split, so I've been trying to find another one. I always look in river island for purses, they always have ones I love, but I've been a little disappointed lately and cant find one in any shop - however having a browse I spotted this one, which is great value for £10 and I think it looks really simple and sophisticated (if its not weird to call a purse sophisticated?!), so I think this may be the one to finally replace my old, worn out one!

neon winter and instagram!

Hello ladies!
Feels like ages since I last did a post but it was only Wednesday! Been busy, first week of college so been a bit sparse with posts!

Thought I'd show you my outfit today, the weather was vile! It was so cold and rainy! I think I'm going to need to get my winter wardrobe out early!

So its hard to tell on the picture, but the jumper is like a knitted light brown and neon yellow! I absolutely love it and got it recently in river island reduced to £20! I snatched it right up, perfect for winter! I paired it just with my leather jacket which I needed because its freezing and my Topshop Leigh jeans.

And wanted to show you two things I got in boots today in my free, I got a tangle teezer finally! As my hair is so easily knotty and falls out easily too, so I was recommended this to try, and may do a review on it soon! I also picked up this no 7 eye colour brush, I plan on use for my concealer.

Also extra news: I've joined instagram! follow me at 'jenastagram'.

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST #4

Hello again,
Last week I completely forgot what day it was so missed out on my Wednesday wishlist so this is number 4 I believe?! So here's a few bits I'm lusting over right now, wishing I had the funds for it all!

1.  Umberto Giannini back comb in a bottle £5.61 from Boots.
I saw this at  http://thebeautyoflouise.blogspot.co.uk/, she did a review and when I saw the pictures I just knew I had to try it! It's on my list to be picked up next time I'm in Boots, I'd seen it before and not thought much of it, but my hair is quite lifeless sometimes, and this may be the best solution to add volume without wrecking my roots!

2. Mac pro sculpting cream £17.50
Is basically a cream bronzer and it say it can also be used for contouring! my ideal product! I've never seen a cream bronzer before and love the idea as powder doesn't last long on my skin. I think it may be limited edition, so I'm eager to go pick this up asap!

3. Johnston's lambswool tartan scarf seen on ASOS £20
Now the weathers getting colder again (too soon) I'm looking into winter pieces and I love the look of this tartan scarf just with jeans and a top or a dress and coat! It'll go with everything. Although its quite expensive, in my opinion, for a scarf, I cant seem to find a cheaper one anywhere, so its a possibility I'll get this! If you've seen a cheaper one please let me know I love them!

4. Topshop mirror bunny jumper £46
Again, as its coming into winter, I started to look at jumpers and this one is so cute! what's better than one bunny on a jumper?  TWO! The grey/white colour is also great as it'll go with most things in my wardrobe!  I'm feeling all toasty just looking at it!

5. Models own hed kandi Balearic cool polish £5
I have one hed kandi polish in beach party and I love the neon shade, so want to expand my collection and this blue really caught my eye. It's like a bright baby blue, and I love the quality of models own polishes for only a fiver, although they dry quite matte which isn't my favourite finish, with a glossy top coat, I think this blue will look great!

6. Bonus item: konad nail plate
I'm not sure of the price as the site uses dollars and I'm not even sure if you can get them shipped to the UK, but I saw a tutorial using one in a dog tooth design that looked amazing! I used to be quite into nail art and these would make it a whole lot easier. I think I need to look into them more, do you know if there's something similar in the UK?

So, that is my weekly wants! It's a lot of beauty products this week. what do you think? any products your lusting over for back to school/college and the start of autumn?

OOTD: crochet crop!

Hello Ladies!

So I had my first day back at college today! I'm usually a casual girl and spent most of last year in jeans and leggings! But I'm going into A2 now and it was the first day so I thought I'd  make more of an effort (downhill fro here!) and I brought this beautiful white crochet top from topshop at the weekend an couldn't wait to wear it!

I paired it with a black topshop skater skirt (alot of topshop in one outfit) and some tights.

Sorry the pictures are so rubbish! Bad blogger - but  I was rushing around this morning! I got a better picture of the crochet below so you can see it clearer!

new beauty buys!

Hello,
over the past couple of weeks ive picked up a couple of new beauty items, so i thought id share them with you together rather than doing seperate reviews!

I got the benefit erase paste a few weeks ago. I went and asked the lady at the counter what would be best to cover dark circless as I'd heard good things about erase paste and the bo-ing product. She applied the erase paste and gave me some guides of how to do it.the results were exactly what I was looking for but was abit unsure as its very expensive for such a tiny little tub! However, she asured me it lasts like 2 years as you only need to use a very small amount. I decide to just go for it, and I do love it! I'm still experimenting with brushes and such as I cant quite emulate the  exact same way she did in shop, it does the job, hiding dark circles, and although it feels quite heavy at first it looks completely natural. I got the shade 2, medium, which I was suprised at as I'm really pale. Also I love the fact it comes with the 'lesson' guide its just extra help, which tells you what to do to apply it properly to different areas. I have to say though, I expected it to be a little more long lasting for the price I'd say it lasts maybe 4hr on an average day, I was hoping for a bit longer to be honest as I don't like having to retouch during the day if I'm at college or whatever, but overall I'm glad I invested and its my new go-to concealer.

My next purchase was the accessorize blusher in number 6 - scandal. its a 'merged baked blusher' so it says on the back! This is my first venture into accessorize beauty products, but they're packaging is so gorgeous! when i first spotted this on the shelf, it reminded me of the mac lightscapade but pinkie and was allot cheaper - £4 (ish).

when on the skin it comes out as a light pink that is shimmery. I'm using it as a sort of highlighter/blush as it gives off that kind of glow. they had a bronzer merged blush(?) too, which I think I'll invest in next! I do love this blusher including the packaging!

The last thing to share is this lush bath bomb, I think I've only tried one before a while ago and whilst browsing I loved the smell of this one - dragons egg! I'm not great at describing smells but to me it smells like sherbet and lemon! It's lovely, I haven't tried it in the bath yet so may let you know, but a bit broke off to reveal an orange egg inside, I'm really excited to try this now!

so that didn't last long!

 Hello,
last week I said I was going to do a post everyday until I start college again on Monday, but due to hectic scheduling (excuses!) I haven't done that! However, I have been kind of busy, I've been preparing for my theory test, which I took today- and passed! yay! so I thought I'd just share some pictures of new purchases and such!
when to college to sort timetable, this is what I wore casual and comfy - new primark bag only £12. bargain!
- sorry about the mess my rooms being decorated!
I love the khaki and leather trends so this is perfect! and it was £25 which is expensive for primark I think, but half the price of the ones everywhere else!

ASOS order, some new bits, I'm sending a couple of things back but I usually do with asos as they're sizing can be a bit all over the place! I think I'm going to swap some bits, so expect an update and some outfits!

BOOHOO BLOGGER CHALLENGE!

Fashion vouchers, is an online site that 'brings together all the latest fashion voucher codes, offers and sales available in the UK from the leading fashion brands' are running a competition to win a £50 boohoo voucher. To enter you get to do a bit of online browsing and put together an outfit for £50 or under. This is the look I came up with...
So my perfect outfit from boohoo.com comes in at £45 -
i first spotted this gorgeous Tabby all over printed midi skirt is only £12 - a complete bargain and a nod to the baroque trend that is all over the high street this autumn! so i had to base my look around it.

I've paired it with this leather look Tracey wet look bralet which is £18, I love leather at the moment and I think it'll look great with the skirt, showing a bit of midriff too!

Then to finish of the look, I added these suky cat face wedges for £15 which are great alternatives to the marc jacob cat flats that are way out of my budget! the wedge would elongate legs in the midi skirt, and the cat face is super cute and different!

Thanks for reading, hope you like the outfit!

OOTD: I think this might be summer...

 Hello,

so it's another super quick OOTD today - It was really hot again, I think (fingers crossed) we might be getting a bit of a late summer! We went out for a meal for my sisters birthday today and this is what I decided to wear.

I had on this primark dress I picked up last week, its just a skater style dress, with a nude slip underneath and then navy lace on top. I paired it with my Topshop denim jacket, nude flats and originally I wore tights, but it was just way to hot I took them off before we left!

Hope you like it, Thanks for reading - enjoy the sun!

HAIRSPIRATION!

HELLO,
This post is a little different.
Now its coming into autumn I'm looking into new styles and just generally fancy a change - something new to spruce up my image! So, I thought the best way to do that is to get a new hair cut! I am way over due one anyway, its been 6 months since I ombre /dip dyed my hair, so even longer since a cut! my hair has gotten extremely long ( below boob length) and its becoming more limp and lifeless. I generally keep my hair in good condition but its so long and thick it has no volume or texture! so, here's some hair style inspiration, I'm extremely tempted to try!

all images from google image search

I've currently got three ideas:
get a full fringe cut in and keep my hair long (with a trim).
OR/
cut it just below the shoulder- a good 8 inches off! with a few layers round the face - re cut in my side fringe!
OR/
get more volume and texture put in with layers and then re-do and my ombre adding a colour at the end - thinking blue or pink?

what do you think? which one would you go for?
Thanks for reading

OOTD: sunshine peeping through

 Hello,
Just a quick post today, an OOTD no less! now that people are going back to school, of course , as usual the sun has decided to grace us with another few days of summer! Yay definitely not complaining it was lovely today - and of course that meant id try and get more wear out of dresses! Today I went and booked my holiday - super excited, I'm now going to this lovely hotel in turkey in the October half term - cant wait!

I just wore this grey, capped sleeve dress from Topshop, which is super easy to throw on, a pair of nude dolly shoes from new look, a denim jacket also from Topshop and my watch is from river island.

Thanks for reading guys! Enjoy the sun!

TOP 5 SUMMER/AUTUMN NAIL POLISHES

HELLO,
This is a new kind of post for me, I haven't yet done any nail type posts, which is strange as I do paint my nails at lest twice a week, I love changing my nail colour!! So this post is going to be my top 5 summer/ autumn nail polishes (hence the title he he).
picture from Google and hedkandi.com

so before we start one of my choices - Favourite nail polish of the moment - models own hed kandi in beach party has been left at a friends house but I won't be getting it back for a few weeks and wanted to do this post, so I've substituted by borrowing a picture of it just to show you.
I love this colour, its so bright and neon! It also looks great with a tan making it a must for summer/ autumn!

Red polish is timeless, its always on trend and will go with anything so it's my fail safe. I have a few different reds but this one I've had for over a year - its the rimmel London 60 seconds in 310 red carpet. It's a really vibrant/ bright red great for all year round! It's got a slight glitter in it and dries quite shiny which I love rather than a matte finish.

Next, is a firm  favourite I've also had for quite a while. its a deep berry colour from Barry M called raspberry (shade 273). It's the perfect autumn shade and is a good quality nail polish for the price.

The next two are lighter, possibly more summery colours.
this purple one is a marks & Spencer limited collection in lilac. Its a pale lilac with gold shimmer through it, so when your wearing it, it catches the light and shimmers. It was a super cheap polish- about £3.50, and is a good quality, one coat gives lots of colour, you don't need to use two coats at all, although it looks more shimmery if you do.

The last one is middle of the road, expense wise - £5, but is probably the best quality overall. Its from the look make-up range in super drug- I love this brand its good quality and affordable! This one is definitely a summer shade as its a bold pop of colour! Its a bright pale pink - shade 23 ribbon.

Hope you liked this post, thanks for reading, let me know if you want to see a post on my nail polish collection or new nail purchases (I've gone a bit overboard recently!).

Wednesday Wishlist #3

Hello, it's that time of the week again to put my shopping habit at bay and show you my weekly Wednesday wishlist! as I'm going back to college soon, I'm starting to look for some versatile pieces to last autumn/winter as well as right now!

I love bouclé and leather sleeves so this was a match made in heaven and with the waterfall style it'll be super flattering! The colour is muted enough to go with most outfits, yet still stand out as a statement piece in my autumn/winter wardrobe.

This print is so cute, I also love the shirt in it and looking through my wardrobe a play suit is definately one thing missing since my last one broke. I think this piece could be really wearable in winter too with thick tight and leather jacket, which is good as I don't think I'll get much summer wear out of it at the moment!

I love the shade coral sun which is like a pink/ coral colour with a shiny nourishing finish. It also has SPF 15 - bonus! but although I love the colour and quality- £23 is rather expensive, this might be one to put on my Christmas list!

My skins starts to feel drier with the changing seasons, I love Burt bee products and I'm sure this'll fix the  problem! I'm not always into skincare, but I think its definitely good to invest in a good moisturiser to keep skin healthy.

As I'm going back to college soon I'm starting to look at autumn essential so some winter boots and a good coat are needed. I fell in love with this one straight away! It's such a pretty colour and looks super feminine and toasty! Definitely on the pricey side though so before I invest, I'm going to look around for similar items. if you see anything similar and cheaper, please let me know?!

TAG: 7 Deadly Sins

hello again,

I'm trying to do a post everyday for the next two weeks or so, until I go back to college, where they may become more scarce. plus I do enjoy writing these posts so gives me something to do! haha

so I did a tag about  week ago - the how much is your face worth tag and really enjoyed doing it, so I'm going to do another one today: the 7 deadly sins tag which has been going round the blog/ youtube sphere for a while.

Questions:
1. GREED:  What is your least expensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
most inexpensive is a mua eye liner in brown it was only like 1 pound! bargain!
my most expensive would be the mac strobe liquid for £22.50.

2. WRATH:  What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
this was easy : flicked eye-liner. I love the look but just cannot do it myself easily. They never match and its so frustrating yet I keep practising in the hope I'll become an expert one day!

3. GLUTTONY:  What are your most delicious beauty products?
It has to be the lush bubblegum flavour lip scrub (review here) - smells and tastes delicious!

4. SLOTH:  What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
It would have to be either primers as I genrally forget to put them on first and theyre not something you can add at the end - also on day to day basis I generally neglect eyeshadow even though I have some lovely colours, i tend not to wear them at all and if I do its just simple nude/ gold colours.

5. PRIDE:  What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
concealer and mascara are the minimal I like to use - I have genrally clear skin so they are just enough to make me feel happier in my skin and able to face the world!

6. LUST:  What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
beauty wise - groomed eyebrows and nice eyes, personality wise always a sense of humour - I like to laugh!

7. ENVY:  What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
something I could never justify buying myself - at the moment I really want the yves saint laurent lipstick in peach/coral - but at over £20 I just cannot bring myself to pay that much so would be the perfect gift!

I do like doing these Tag posts, so if you have any suggestions of some to do leave it in the comments and ill try to do them. Thanks for reading!

monthly favouites! AUGUST.

 hello loveliess!

So I've been reading a few august favourites and although its a bit late - I'm going to stick my two pence in as they say and show you my august favourites.

The first is peplum styles. I have been loving peplum tops. I already had one and have brought two more in the space of  month! and have my eye on a third! (is that bad?! They're so flattering on me and I think they make a casual outfit a bit more feminine because of the silhouette it creates.

Make-up favourites:
I brought the mac strobe liquid last month and have been using it everyday (everyday I put makeup on anyway). It gives a nice dewy look mixed with or under foundation and I also use it as a highlighter on brow bone, nose and cheek bone. It was £22.50 so expensive but im sure it'll last a while and is a good multi-tasking product!

My next favourite is also quite an expensive product. Its the erase paste from benefit- (review to follow). It covers dark circles better than any other concealer ive tried, however it is hard to get out of the tineey tiny pot!

Next up is the hollister body spray in solana beach. It smeels so light and fruity great for summer instead of a heavy perfume and easier to put in my bag than glass bottles to use throughout the day.

So dairy milk is a different one? not very beauty or fashion related however as Tesco  had them on offer over the past 3 weeks ish I am not ashamed to say I took advantage and have eaten way too much than I should of!

I don't know if this last one really counts as I only got it a week or so ago, but its the semi - annual company high street edit! I always get this, even though it has gone up in price since last time. £4.50 is ridiculous but I do find it gives inspiration for looks and doesn't come out every month anyway. I get to look through it at ways actual people have put together outfits, rather than stylists putting togrther thnigns you couldnt walk down the street in!

hope you've all had a lovely august and summer as it's starting to come into autumn. Any products you've been loving this august?
xoxo

Sunday 2 September 2012

splurge!

 hello,
so yesterday i went shopping (again!) and had a little splurge so i wanted to show you guys some of the things i got...

firstly, is these 'disco leggings'. I've tried on some AA disco pant dupes and just cant find some that i like ( they tend to be too short) but i found these leggings version instead from river island, they were £18 which isnt bad, and I do love the look so this are a great alternative if you don't want the trouser version.

I also picked up the real techniques blush brush finally as ive been meaning to get it for ages! It's really soft and I couldnt wait to use it today. I used it for my setting powder and blusher and it works great for both!

next up is this thick  topshop cardigan with studs on the shoulders, which is great for winter as its so warm! it was quite expensive at £48 but with student discount, it's OK for a statement autumn/winter piece.

also from top shop are these leopard print studded vectras! they are surprisingly comfy too and I love leopard print and studs!

I've been loving the zara shirts but when I spotted this primark one, I was over the moon its much cheaper and looks just as good quality. the buttons don't look cheap like some primark stuff and it has the cutest dog print on it! I wish it was a little bit longer, but all in all I think it was a bargain for £12 and I know ill wear it alot.

so next up is this zara knit wear peplum. I now have three peplum tops i love them so much! this looks so sophisticated and will be great in autumn winter as its knitted. I wore it today with jeans and a leather jacket and it made a simple but nice outfit. sometimes zara is quite expensive but this was £17.99 which is reasonable as its good quality with gold looking hardware zip.

The final item is this neon pink dress from H&M. it makes you look so tanned! BONUS. It's got a lace top an then flows out so is flattering. A plus point is that its thick enough to not be see - through however its quite short! but if it is to short I can always put shorts on under it or thick tights to get some wear out of it in winter!

thanks for reading guys.
